Our Mt. Loafer 6th Graders had the opportunity this week to attend the BYU Sports Hero day. There were just shy of 1,000 6th grade students that attended this event. The students participated in various stations put together by almost all of the BYU athletics teams. Each station had an activity that was led by athletes from the respective sport, giving the students the opportunity to interact with their BYU sports heroes. The last stop for the students was a pep rally run by the BYU cheer squad and Cougarettes. Following the cheers, four BYU athletes addressed the crowd: cheerleader Jessica Young, soccer player Bizzy Phillips and football players Jonny Linehan and Tanner Mangum. They Spoke to the students about the importance of Goal Setting and never giving up. It was a great field trip! Clark Planetarium came and showed us just how awesome science can be!!!!
Mrs. Jex came and taught us how to do Christmas Mandela's. We love Mrs. Jex's art projects!
On Friday...We had a Karaoke reward activity. We had a lot of fun!
6th Grade marks the last time these Kiddos get to have a Elementary School Halloween Party. I am SOOOO grateful to some awesome moms who gave the students a GREAT party! They had a blast and went home maybe a little sugared up :-) Thanks again so much to everyone who helped!!!
We have been learning about the Phases of the Moon this past week in Class. The students have done a great job of understanding how the phases of the moon work. They are also keeping a Moon Journal at home of what the moon looks like every night this month. There was an awesome full moon a few nights ago!
Last Friday we had our 1st 6th Grade Reward Activity...for all students who had two or less missing assignments. The students were able to play different games and have a treat. Thanks for all your hard work staying caught up on your work!!! This Weekend, I (Mrs. Spencer) went to the Chalk The Block Festival at the Riverwoods in Provo. There were many amazing chalk arts there....and even our own little class was represented well! Great Job Will!
