At the beginning of the school year, I introduced our behavior chain and gave the kids a challenge. For every positive class point that they earned at the end of the day, the would get a chain...and when the chain reached the ground...we would get a class reward party! Well the kids have worked hard, they have done well in class and as they go to planning times....and this week, the chain reached the ground! They chose to have an electronics party with root beer floats this afternoon :-) Our 6th Grade Team Building Day was a success! Each class made tie-dyed t-shirts and we did several fun activities to learn how to work as a team (and eat watermelon :-) ) Thank you so much to everyone who helped out with this activity! Today we did a team building activity where we had to save Sam the worm. He had fallen out of his boat without a life jacket and we had to work together with our partner to save him! We are happy to report that most of the "Sams" were saved :-) We have survived our 1st week of 6th grade! I have loved getting to know your sweet kids! I am excited for everything that we will be doing this year! Welcome New 6th Graders!!! I am so excited to meet you! We are going to have a great year! I hope that you are all having a great last two weeks before school starts. If you are out and about school shopping...here are the few school supplies that you will need for this school year. -A 3 Ring Binder -A packet of binder tabs -A pencil pouch for Binder -A SIMPLE calculator (it doesn't need to be anything fancy. The calculator pictured would work great and it is $1.50 at Wal-mart). That's all the supplies that you will need. Everything else will be waiting for you when you come :-) The last day of Elementary School Arrived! It was a sad and happy day. I am so sad to see these kids move on...but I am excited to see what they accomplish in the Future! Good Luck in Jr. High!!! We had our final Field Day of Elementary School! It was a fun, wet time!!!! We had a little shaving cream party today to clean our desks...who knew that shaving cream could be so much fun? Our End of year 6th grade field trip was to Classic Skating! We had a blast!!! |
